I recently read an article about complaining or, as some of us refer to it, whining. It’s fascinating to me that there are even forums that have been created in order for people to complain in a more organized fashion. And, truth be known, the people doing the complaining are not doing their best work.

This past weekend marked the first combined class reunion for graduates of Llano High School between 1960 and 1969. A goodly number of former students and their spouses attended a pleasant night down memory lane in the patio area of the Badu House. Background music featured appropriate tunes from the era, while guest mingled casually and munched from a well supplied buffet table constantly replenished with hearty and tasty snacks and appetizers.

“The stars are the jewels of the night, and perchance surpass anything which day has to show.” If you have taken time recently to stop and gaze into the night sky, you can agree with these words written by Henry David Thoreau.  Well, the people with Hill Country Land Trust and the Hill Country Alliance are working hard to protect the starry skies by raising awareness of the importance of controlling the amount and type of light used.
