Dear Editor:
The various clubs and organizations in Llano and surrounding areas fry catfish as a money-raising event. Do we know that the catfish is raised in America or in some cesspool in China or Indonesia? The salesman will say “You’re trying to make money and I can sell you a box of fish for $5.00 less than American-raised fish”.
Let’s get behind this and proudly tell your guests that this is “American Catfish” not fish from some foreign sewer.

If Terry Wootan polled 21 of his customers at Cooper’s Barbecue, and 11 said the brisket was decent, he wouldn’t be too happy. But if his Quarter Horse, Llano Teller, won 11 of 21 races, he’d be rather excited about the career of the four-year-old.
“Teller broke out on top and cruised to a win,” Wootan related, concerning his Texas-bred speedster, which captured the $100,530 Bank of America Remington Championship Challenge, May 6, in Oklahoma City.

If Hamilton finishes first in all three offensive categories (AL only), he’ll win the Triple Crown, one of the greatest achievements in the history of sports.
Since 1900, 11 men have won the Crown 13 times.

BURNET/GATESVILLE—It wasn’t a great night at the home of the Bulldogs—too often the case—but not a bad one, as the Llano 7-on-7 group won one game and lost two, May 24.
Two days later in Gatesville, winning one of the most thrilling contests this casual sport can produce, the record was reversed making it a respectable three up, three down ledger.
There were positive signs and comments.
“I think we’re doing pretty good this early,” Wil Siegenthaler said.
