Packsaddle Teacher Files EECO Complaint Against Llano ISD
Monday, June 11, 2012 • Posted June 14, 2012

A fourth grade teacher at Packsaddle Elementary has filed a complaint against administrators with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, alleging discrimination due to a medical disability that she has.

Karena Prew stated that Llano ISD Superintendent Dennis Hill and former Packsaddle Principal Dale Mason discriminated against her because of a medical condition, which caused her undue stress and said that she has been on a leave of absence from her position since February of this year.

Prior to filing with the EEOC, Prew filed the complaint with the school, and the Llano ISD held three separate grievance hearings, and in each one found no merit in her claims.

The next step in the process is for the EEOC to gather information from the school in order to render a judgment. At this point, information regarding the complaint cannot be released by the EEOC.

Superintendent Hill confirmed that the complaint had been filed against the Llano ISD regarding her employment, and that “The school district’s law firm has responded at the EEOC on behalf of the district, and the decision is pending.” Superintendent Hill also said that, “A third party has looked into the allegations for the district, and they appear to be unfounded.”
