Llano Man Airlifted Following Assault

On Thursday, June 14, Russell Scott Lewis,54, was arrested by the Llano Police Department on charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, a second degree felony, following the stabbing of BIlly Roy Haggerton, Jr, 44,. at Corner Stop on Hwy 29 in Llano.

Lewis allegedly stabbed Haggerton in the chest, puncturing a lung. Haggerton was airlifted to an unnamed hospital where it was reported that as of Friday, June 15, he was in ICU and suffering from internal bleeding.

Lewis was arrested five or six blocks from the scene of the altercation and is being held in the Llano County Jail on a $30,000 bond.

The weapon used was found about a block from where the incident occurred.
