There are exciting things going on this summer at the Llano and Kingsland Libraries for all of the kids! So many fun activities to keep kids engaged and reading through the summer – take a minute to see what’s happening at your library!
At the Llano Library this week, the Austin Planetarium will be here with their Mobile Dome for programs throughout the day on Thursday, June 21. Children attending the Summer Reading Program will see the space program during their session, but there are also two programs that are open to the public. At 11:30 a.m., “Dawn of the Space Age” will be presented and at 1:15 p.m., it will be “The Sky Tonight”. Space is limited, so if you would like to attend one of these programs please call the library at 325-247-5248 to reserve your space. See more about this at www.austinplanetarium.org
All of the action will be at the Kingsland Library on Friday, June 22 with the magical skills of Spikey Mikey with his “I Love To Read” program. Mike Cruz presents a funny, interactive program that encourages kids to read. Mike has been a magician for many years and loves to use his magic to teach and motivate kids. Be there at 4:30 this Friday for Spikey Mikey and then every Friday through July 27 for all of the Summer Reading Club fun!
Back to the Llano Library on Monday, June 25, for a special event — the TAME Trailblazer Science Trailer will be here for hands-on science fun. The Science Trailer has stations inside for hands-on science projects and then inside the library there will be more fun projects. Space is limited to 20 inside the trailer every 30 minutes from 10:30 – 12 noon and 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. Also allow about 30 minutes inside the library for the fun projects. Time slots are filling up fast, so call the library at 325-247-5248 today to reserve your space.
