LUAS Scheduled to Meet

Llano Uplift Archeological Society (LUAS) will meet at 7:00 pm on July 11, 2012 at the Nightengale Archeological Center in Kingsland, Texas.

Ashleigh J. Knapp, graduate student of the Anthropology Department at Texas State University, will offer the presentation. Knapp will tell about her research with burned rock middens in the Lower Canyonlands, but with a little bit of a different perspective. On-going excavations of the Little Sotol site that consists of a large burned rock midden and two small caves are being conducted.

Directions: Take County Road 126 (at Twin Isles between Granite Shoals and Kingsland) off 1431. There is a small sign -LUAS- to the first right and another LUAS sign to the left toward the river, 201 Circle Drive. For more information call Chuck Hixson at (325) 423-0379.
