Dear Editor,

Please accept this as an apology from the Kingsland Lake LBJ Chamber of Commerce.

We are sorry for the shortness of the 43rd Annual Aqua Boom Fireworks as there was honestly a technical difficulty. As a person whom has seen from start to finish it is a very fine detail work in progress. It takes 6-8 hrs to set up all the wiring and shells. A fire truck has to be present during this. It is dangerous setting up as anything can go wrong.

At the start, the board that is what the wires are hooked up to….they are not lit like we do our personal fireworks…malfunctioned and wires got burned up. Therefore making it impossible to set the seventeen minutes of fireworks off.

The fireworks personnel continued to light the fires with ‘flares’ until it got past the ‘safety’ of the crew, this is when the Fire Chief and the Pyrotechnician made the difficult call to stop the fireworks. This is the first time this has ever happened. Please do not blame the fire department or the Chamber. Hold your complaints when you don’t know the facts of what happen. Just be thankful that no one got hurt. We sincerely apologize for this on our 43rd AQUA BOOM.

But….we are grateful to John Davis of Marble Falls City Tire and John and Lynda Davis of Floormaster for the fantstic show that they put on at the 2900 bridge. They continued to do an awesome show after we finished. Johnny picked up and put on a show for all to see. We appreciate them dearly for still giving the Splash Boom and Bang of the Spirit of Freedom.

Sincerely,

President of Kingsland Chamber Cindy Miller

Aqua Boom Chairman Charlotte Dilworth
