Llano County was well represented at District 7 4-H Leadership Lab, held in New Braunfels at T Bar M Resort, June 26-28, 2012. Attending were Jacey Smathers, Kaymon Lange, McKenzie Cockerham, Kyle Tarter, and Logan Bauer. They learned about public speaking, money management, and leadership skills. Accompanying the youth were Texas AgriLife Extension agents Marilyn Hale and Jamie Osbourn.

District 4-H Council officer elections for 2012-2013 were held during the lab. Jacey Smathers was elected 3rd Vice President. She will receive additional leadership training at the District 7 Officer and Ambassador Workshop in Brownwood, July 29-31, 2012.
