Ever drive past one of our libraries – Llano, Kingsland or Lakeshore – and see the parking lot packed and wonder what’s going on? Well, if you haven’t taken the time to find out about all of the entertaining and educational programs at the libraries, or stopped in to take advantage of borrowing for free all of the latest books in a variety of formats, you’re certainly missing out on one of the greatest assets of our county.
There are exciting things going on this summer at the Llano and Kingsland Libraries for kids of all ages! So many fun activities to keep kids engaged and reading through the summer – take a minute to see what’s happening @ your library!
Summer Reading Program continues at the Kingsland Library with storyteller Bernadette Nason with “Spy a Story” on Friday, July 20 at 11:00 a.m. On Friday, July 27 at 11:00 a.m. “The Maestro of Imagination” Joe McDermott will entertain all of the family with his music. This program will be at the Kingsland Community Park and will include the TRC awards and a hotdog lunch!
It’s also not too late to sign up for the RSVP (Really Special Very Pleasant) Limited Edition Programs at the Kingsland Library. On Wednesday, July 18 at 4:00 p.m. you’ll enjoy a “Lego Workshop” and on Wednesday, August 1 at 4:00 p.m. the fun will be “Play Dough Play”.
The Teen Summer Program at the Llano Library is just beginning this week, and the fun will continue on every Thursday from July 19 through August 16. The program will be filled with a variety of activities for all teens 6th grade (just completed) through high school. For more information about this program, call Tommi at 325-247-5248.
It’s not too late to sign up and attend the computer classes that are offered this week at the Llano Library. On Thursday, July 19 the Technology Expertise, Access and Learning for All Texans Project (TEAL) Mobile Computer Lab will be here for two different FREE hands-on computer classes. At 10:00 a.m. the class will be “Online Job Search” and at 2:00 p.m. it will cover “Resume Writing”.
On Wednesday, July 25 at 10:30 a.m. the Llano Library will be filled with laughter and fun for the “kids at heart”! Essie Mae and friends will be talking “Family” this month and you know everyone will have stories to share! So join everyone for shared memories of family and childhood – with a few recipes thrown into the mix. No telling what wonderful (or hilarious) stories everyone will share. Every month, Essie Mae (aka Sandra Parker) will find the humorous side of a new topic. Lighten up your life a little and join the fun!
