Buster Neal McGinty
1939-2012

Buster Neal McGinty, 72, of Granite Shoals, passed away, July 23, 2012. He was born to Shade and Tommie (Rogers) McGinty on July 31, 1939 in Snyder, Texas.

Mr. McGinty proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Viet Nam war serving two tours of duty. He was awarded two Purple Hearts and one Bronze Star. Following his retirement he was employed with the Colorado River Authority and retired there also. He was a member of the V.F.W. and in his spare time enjoyed fishing and dominos. He was proud to be an honest man.

He is survived by his wife, Mary McGinty of Granite Shoals, Texas, children, Wesley McGinty of Midland, Texas, Janet and Kenneth Upham of Granite Shoals, Texas, Robert McGinty of San Antonio, Texas, Richard McGinty of Granite Shoals, Texas, Rodger McGinty and Jim McGinty of Lubbock, Texas; eight grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; sister, Mary June Ashley of Kingsland, Texas, nieces and nephews also survive.

Visitations were held at Putnam Funeral Home with funeral services being held on Wednesday, July 25, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Richard Vandeventer and the Highland Lakes Honor Guard officiating. Burial will take place at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, San Antonio, Texas on Thursday, July 26, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. An online guest register may be signed at www.Putnam Cares.com.
