Movie Director, Andrew Disney, to visit Llano
Wednesday, August 8, 2012 • Posted August 8, 2012

Fort Worth native, Andrew Disney, will be visiting Llano on Friday, August 10th, to introduce his first full length film – ‘Searching for Sonny’. The movie is being shown at the Lantex Cinema by the Lantex Film Society at 7:30 pm on Friday. Andrew will be at the theater from 7:00 pm onwards.

Disney has been filmmaking from a very early age; his first short film exhibited at the Los Angeles International Film Festival at age 18. After studying filmmaking abroad and at New York University’s Tisch School of Arts, Disney completed his first full length film, ‘Searching for Sonny’, which has already won many awards throughout the nation’s film festivals, including Best Screenwriting and Best Ensemble (Phoenix Film Festival).

‘Searching for Sonny’ is billed as a comedy who-done-it in which reunited friends find themselves the chief suspects of a murder mystery that seems oddly similar to a play they performed in high school. This full length film (91 min) includes veteran actors from popular shows such as ‘Friday Night Lights’, ‘The Wire’, ‘Veronic Mars’, ‘Battlestar Galactica’ and a fan favorite ‘Heroes’.

The Lantex Film Society works with the Llano Main Street Program and the Texas Independent Film Network to bring Texas made movies to the Lantex Theater and has been successful in attracting a number of directors to introduce their films here. Join us on Friday August 10th in welcoming Andrew Disney to Llano. Movie begins at 7:30 pm. All seats $5.
