The Christmas season. It can be a very stressful, trying time of year as well as a joyous one as we celebrate the true meaning of Christmas. There’s shopping (and wrapping), parties and gatherings, food to prepare, and . . . . the list goes on.
Before you let the stress of choosing just that right gift for a family member, friend, or neighbor shake your holiday spirit, plan to give a gift that keeps on giving. Each of the libraries has in place a system where you can make a donation to the library for books, we send out a nice acknowledgment to the recipient you choose, and place a bookplate in the book selected for the library. The Llano Library even has a tree in place with photos of children’s books with the amount needed to purchase that book for the library.
Every request on the Angel Tree at the Kingsland Library has once again this year been fulfilled. The Llano County Sheriff’s Department is gathering gifts for children through their “Brown Santa” project. The libraries are a drop-off point for these gifts.
The Friends of the Llano Library and the Library Staff will hold their annual Christmas Open House on Thursday, December 13 from 3:00-5:00 p.m. Please plan to stop by the library and enjoy some nice refreshments and pleasant company.
The Kingsland Library’s “Family Christmas Caroling Hayride” will be December 18 from 4:30 to 6:30 at Camp Buckner. Tickets are $3 per person, kids 3 and under are free. Included in the fun evening is the, hayride, a bonfire, hot dogs and hot chocolate. You can call the library at 325-388-3170 for more details about these events.
