Llano Military Group Discuss Christmas from the Homefront
Wednesday, December 12, 2012 • Posted December 13, 2012

On Thursday December 6, 2012 a meeting was held at Burger Bar Cafe to discuss reorganization of the Llano Military News Group and the mailing of Christmas packages to our service-members from Llano County.

Papers are being filed with the State of Texas to establish LMNG as a formal organization and a nonprofit organization.

In the mean time, any monetary donations for Christmas from the Homefront care package items may be made to the Llano Military News Group through the Frank Griggs Post # 370 American Legion P. O. Box 234 Llano, Tx 78643. We will be accepting items for care packages at the Llano National Bank Buchanan Dam branch, Waldrope Hatfield Hawthorne Funeral Home and the Llano Chamber of Commerce. The items will be picked up by December 17 and we will be putting together the packages on December 18 at 6 pm at St James Lutheran Church.

Graciously serving as LMNG’s initial board members are Chairman Allyn Rub, Co-Chairman Kristy Becker, Secretary Carla Rub, Treasurer Teresa Martin, Board-members Cindy Burleson and Eddie Martin.

All future meetings of the Llano Military News Group will be quarterly. The meetings will be open to everyone with an interest in honoring our military members. Our meeting time and place will made available in the county newspapers and on our group’s Facebook page.

If you know of anyone who graduated from Llano High School and is currently serving our country, please let us know. We will gladly add them to our list and honor them now with a little Christmas from home and again in May on Armed Forces Day.
