Desiree Fry, Cecil Leach and their two daughters, Brooke, 5 and Emily, 8 are all unharmed, but the same can not be said for their family home, their belongings, and their Christmas. A fire that started with the heat lamp in their dog house on the night of Wednesday, December 12, quickly took over their home. Everyone made it out safe. The home is a total loss, leaving this family with nothing. Their beautifully decorated tree with all of their presents already wrapped and ready for Christmas morning are gone.
This Sunday Desiree Fry said, "Tonight when I close my eyes I won't see flames... I won't see a window sill with red and orange.... I will see my sweet girls smiling and giggling... Hope and happiness is what I will see." The family is thankful for their blessings and for the community pulling together in their time of need. Desiree stated, "We are beyond blessed to have such an amazing support system. This community and the surrounding ones have truly touched our hearts and have made us feel so, so very much loved. We have drawn so much strength from our friends and family... I have drawn so much strength from two amazing little girls... They have given me the strength to stand tall. We are counting our blessings and thanking God for each brand new day. Cecil, myself, Emily, and Brooke have so much love in our heart for every single one of you and so many more."
Arrowhead Bank is taking donations to help the family rebuild their home and their lives and to help ensure that they all have the amazing Christmas that they deserve.
