Scott Honored for Collegiate Achievement

An outstanding student and May graduate of Texas State University, Sarah Irene Scott was inducted into the collegiate scholastic organization, The National Honor and Merit Scholars Society, on November 24.

She graduated with a master’s degree in early childhood, elementary, and bilingual education. She was selected to serve her peers through the university’s Associated Student Government as a College of Education Representative in 2010, and as Speaker of the House of Graduate Representatives in 2011.

Other honors include appointment to the Texas State University Council and the Muriel M. Muir Excellence in Mentoring Awards Committee by the Associate Dean of the Graduate College. She is a member of Phi Delta Kappa Honor Society, Kappa Delta Pi Honor Society, Pi Lambda Theta Honor Society, Sigma Alpha Lambda Honor Society, and Order of the Key.

A well-rounded individual, she also was elected President of the San Marcos Student Reading Council, and served on the Advisory Board for the Alpha Zeta chapter of Chi Omega social sorority. Sarah is the daughter of Rebecca Scott of Llano, and the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Henry D. Jung of Fredericksburg.
