Xeriscape gardening presented by Llano Master Gardeners Dave and Inell Franks was the subject of the January meeting of the Llano Woman?s Culture Club. Hostesses Barbara Heldridge, Patsye Parker, Martha Long, Wilma Holt decorated the Clubhouse in keeping with the theme, displaying some of the plants and features used in this water-saving method of gardening.
Following the program and refreshments, President Carol Dodgen presided over the business meeting in which the club heard plans for the Spring fund-raiser to be held on February 24 at St. James Lutheran Church. Again this year, the Sunday luncheon will be a meal featuring home-cooked items prepared by members of the club. Tickets for the home-cooked buffet are $8 for adults and $4 for children under 10. Take-out meals will be available and proceeds will benefit the club?s scholarship fund and other projects.
This year a new feature will be added to the dinner?a drawing to win a red Kitchen-Aid Classic stand mixer. Tickets for the mixer raffle will be $2 each or 3 tickets for $5 and are available from any club member.
