Wednesday, February 13, 2013 • Posted February 14, 2013

The man arrested in connection with last month's bank robbery in Kingsland has recently been issued warrants for three additional bank robberies in Travis County.

According to news reports, Benton Paul Buratti is wanted in connection with bank robberies at a Frost Bank on December 6, a Compass Bank on December 22, and a Woodforest National Bank on January 2.

Buratti was arrested on January 18 in Arlington for the Llano County heist and charged for the January 4 robbery of the American Bank of Texas in Kingsland. The offense is a 2nd degree felony.

Austin Police Detective Charles Kleinert said that the suspect was seen leaving the scene on foot in all three robberies.

According to news reports. Kleinert said police compared the surveillance images from the Kingsland robbery, looking for similarities in appearance and mannerisms, and were satisfied that the same man had committed the three Austin-area robberies.

Llano County sheriff’s office said they are investigating another person of interest in the Kingsland robbery, a woman whose name they will not release at this time.

Buratti is currently being held in Llano County without bail.
