FCCLA Ready to Kick Off The New Year
Wednesday, February 13, 2013 • Posted February 14, 2013

It’s a new year and FCCLA is starting new things. Last year we had much success, and we’re going to try even harder to help out the community through the events we host. One of the biggest events we do is Angel Tree. FCCLA had a tree set up, with names of children in our community who needed presents. FCCLA members, students, and citizens got a name off the tree, and brought gifts for that child. We were able to service 60 children this year. Much appreciation to Scott and White, Llano for donating $500 to FCCLA!  Without donations like this, Llano High School students would not be able to reach out and make such a positive difference in our community! Thanks Scott and White Health Care System!

FCCLA is super excited to get this New Year started. We have many events that are going to kick off the New Year and were glad to be helping the community through our events! Some of our FCCLA officers compete in a region meet, where they compete in STAR events (Students Taking Action with Recognition) to create awareness or take action for their future. Or they can compete in Lifesmarts, LEO’s proficiency events, or run for a region officer. We have four officers going to regionals to represent Llano High School. Allison Culpepper, Yamilex Espinosa, and Shelby Kamradt are all competing in STAR events. Llano FCCLA’s President Hillary Martinez is running for regional officer. We have many events that are going to kick off the year and are glad to be helping the community through our events! Stay tuned to see teenagers in action-making a difference!
