Council Rejects Request to Close Alley
Wednesday, February 22, 2012 • Posted February 22, 2012

A request to close and convey an alleyway in the Wooley Addition was denied on Tuesday night, due to a majority of landowners surrounding the land in question objecting to the request. The alley in question is located between E. Luce Street and E. Wallace Street.

A second request for closure and conveyance was granted by council; the property in question is located on Dallas Street, and is currently not being used as a thoroughfare. There were no objections by property owners to this request.

Master Gardeners were given the green light to begin a Sculpture Garden project at the depot near the Chamber of Commerce.

Following reports from the airport, IT department and the City Manager, the meeting was adjourned.

Editor’s Note: It was incorrectly reported that JR Decker’s seat on the council is up for re-election. That is incorrect. The seat that will be open is currently held by Jeanne Puryear. We apologize for the error.
