A series of three classes for family history researchers begins Wednesday, March 18, from 10 a.m. to noon at the Kingsland Branch Library, presented by the Kingsland/Highland Lakes Genealogical Society (KGS).
The sessions are open to everyone free of charge, with donations accepted for printed materials.
Further classes are scheduled March 25 and April 1, with information for researchers at all levels. The first session will stress basic procedures for those just beginning their research or wanting to review the process.
Useful materials needed, including census records, birth and death certificates, and forms for recording information will be explained.
There will also be discussion of county courthouse materials, helpful Internet sites, and the library’s local research room.
Later sessions, conducted by local volunteers, will cover more detailed research assistance and personal examples.
Pre-registration is not required, but is encouraged to make sure enough information packets are available.
Those interested may call Ann Sadler at 830.598.7327, or Joanne Scarborough at 830.598-6443.
