This weekend, the LanTex will show the popular movie Taken that will benefit the Llano Master Gardeners. This group is very active in the community and has been responsible for so many beautification projects around town such as Pioneer Park, the County Clerk’s office, and the Llano Woman’s Culture Club Building.

Their latest endeavor will be landscaping the grounds in back of the Llano County Library. This will be a wonderful showcase for them, as it is the area to be improved by the latest Texas Capital Fund Grant.

The library project, a combination of landscaping and sprinkler repair is a joint effort of the Llano Master Gardeners and the Friends of the Library so proceeds of the movie will fund this project.

Kim is just like many young 17-year-old girls, as she wants to travel to Paris with her friend Amanda. She is the pride and joy of her father, Bryan, who left the secret service to be near his daughter in California and reluctantly signs authorization to allow her to take the trip.

Upon their arrival, the girls share a cab with two strangers and naively reveal that they are in Paris alone. They are kidnapped by an Albanian gang that are involved in human trafficking.

While talking on the phone to her father she reveals that criminals have just broken into their room, have just taken her friend Amanda, and eventually take her too.

Bryan tells the kidnappers over the phone that he will track them down, that he has a particular set of skills that will make it a nightmare for them. He immediately travels to Paris to find his daughter and her friend.

This edge of your seat thriller, starring Liam Neeson, Maggie Grace and Famke Janssen will show Friday, March 27 at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday, March 27 at 4:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Dollar off coupons will be available at the local businesses and banks. There will be a display in the lobby about the library landscaping project and information on the Master Gardeners — see you at the movies this week to help support this wonderful group of spirited volunteers.
