Music and art will reign supreme in Marble Falls this Friday, Saturday and Sunday … and everyone’s invited to come “dance in the street” and “paint the town” and at The Bluebonnet Music and Fine Arts Festival.
“The bluebonnets are blooming and the weather this weekend is supposed to be spectacular so we’d like to see everyone come out and have a good time. We invite our Llano County friends to take the short drive to Marble Falls for some fun here,” said Shannon Heep, event planner.
Oh, and don’t forget the food. There will be lots, including shrimp skewers, fajitas, hamburgers, turkey drumsticks, brisket, barbq’d beef, corn dogs, nachos, cotton candy and more! Wine by the glass, beer, soft drinks and water will also be served. Organizers will be featuring several Hill Country wineries.
Hosted by the Historic Main Street Association and the Uptown Marble Arts Alliance, in association with GTT Entertainment, the event will be held on Main Street in downtown Marble Falls throughout the weekend.
Highlights include the 2009 music headliner, “Pure Prairie League,” who will perform Saturday evening at the Main Street outdoor theater at 7:00 p.m., and on-site painting by some 40 artists, who will be painting scenes of Marble Falls during the weekend. The artists begin their work on Friday and paintings will be available for sale at a silent auction. The auction opens at 6:30 p.m. Saturday and ends Sunday afternoon at 3:00 p.m.
Friday evening at the Uptown Marble Theater, Pianorama will highlight the evening, featuring the keyboard talents of Johnny Nicholas, Danny Levin, Floyd Domino and Riley Osborne. The program begins at 8 p.m. Tickets are $12 pre-sale and $15 at the door. Also available are tickets at $25 for limited reserved table seating.
Advance tickets, available through tomorrow (Thursday, Mar. 26), may be reserved online at www.historicmainstreet.org. “We are extending a special invitation and discount to our friends in Llano County,” says Heep. By typing in the following website address, they can access advance sale tickets for an extra $2 off each: www.historicmainstreet.org/LlanoFriends.
