Douglas L. Kring Sr. passed away Wednesday, April 2. He was born to Joseph and Joyce (Guenter) Kring on Dec. 22, 1948, in Corpus Christi.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Kathy Rice, of Kingsland.

Doug is survived by his wife Marilyn, of Kingsland; his son Doug Kring Jr., of Kingsland; his daughter Kim Kring and Christopher D. Ellis (husband), of Pontotoc; his step-son Dusty Ford and Marsha (wife), of Godly; and his grandchildren Tori and Dawson McGowan, Braden Kring and Chelsey, Carrie and Cody Ford.

He was raised in Granite Shoals with his brothers and sisters. He married Marilyn (Young) Kring on August 19, 2005 in Cleburne, Texas.

Doug worked as a CAT certified heavy equipment mechanic. He took pride in his extensive knowledge of his work. He loved hunting and the outdoors and was an avid Nascar fan. He was also an avid billiards player and loved spending time with all of his friends and his grandchildren, children and wife.

A memorial service was held at Putnam Funeral Home in Kingsland on Sunday, April 6 at 2 p.m
