Grace Episcopal Church, Llano, recently completed a fund raiser to sponsor a mission trip to Uganda, April 9 - May 3. A giant yard sale and quilt raffle earned monies to assist local member, Judy Waddell, who will travel with the Hands of Hope Tapestry Ministry from the Episcopal Diocese of West Texas.

This group will spend three weeks in Uganda traveling to villages and holding workshops to teach sewing skills to women who are impoverished or come from war-torn areas.

The tapestries, which are designed and sewn by the Ugandan women, are finished by the Hands of Hope, sold in the United States, and the sales are returned to the women who are also taught money management and small business skills.

The Hands of Hope Tapestry Ministry sponsors a yearly mission trip to Mexico, South America, or Africa to benefit women in these areas.
