The “Oldies But Goodies Car Show and Social Club” will host its first ever canned goods drive for the Llano Food Pantry on Friday, May 2.

Mark your calendars and make plans to meet us in the parking lot at Inman’s Bar-B-Q on Highway 29 West in Llano. Bring two canned goods and you will receive one raffle ticket. Bring four and you’ll get two raffle tickets.

The more canned goods you bring, the better chances you’ll have to win some really nice prizes. Those prizes will be awarded that night (May 2). However, you must be present to win.

To give you just a taste of what you can win ... $25 gift certificate from Inman’s Kitchen; a free oil change from A-1 Tire; movie rentals from 3-M; $25 gift certificate from Miiller’s Smokehouse; $20 gift certificate from Hill Country Gifts; $25 gift certificate from The Acme. Also, merchandise from CarQuest and Napa auto parts stores. There will be even more prizes.

The Llano Food Pantry currently serves 160-170 families, according to representative, Mr. Oma Ogle. He states they receive no state or federal assistance. Families of all ages are qualified according to income. With the rising cost of food, this is an especially important service offered in our area.

You don’t have to own an old car or hot rod to participate! This is a family friendly group, so bring the kids too. The “Oldies But Goodies Car Show and Social Club” meets every Friday beginning at 5:30 p.m. in the parking lot at Inman’s Kitchen and you are always welcome.

If you have any questions, or would like to donate a prize for this most worthwhile event, call Rick at (325) 247-3838 or Richard at (325) 248-3587. We’ll see you on Friday, May 2. In case of rain, this event will be moved to Friday, May 9.
