The Kingsland/Lake LBJ Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors on Thursday welcomed the Junction House Restaurant & Lounge as their newest member with a formal Ribbon Cutting.
“We are so pleased to have the Junction House as part of our family of Kingsland businesses,” said chamber president Lynda Shroyer.
Since quietly opening last month, the new resident of the white Victorian home on the grounds of the Antler’s Hotel has found itself crowded with diners.
“We actually had a line for lunch today,” said co-owner Chris Sullivan.
Parking around the gardens of the eatery is crowded in the evenings as well.
The menu created by co-owner and chef Greg Malik, can be navigated by region:
New Orleans (Cajun) Galveston (Seafood) King Ranch (Wild Game) Fort Worth (Steaks).
An abbreviated version is found on the lunch menu along with blue plate specials that include three side dishes with entrees like chicken fried steak, beef tips with rice, smothered pork chops and all the chicken favorites: King Ranch, with dumplings, baked, in tenders and fried livers.
The newly remodeled restaurant features The Club Car Lounge upstairs 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday.
Lunch is served 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday to Sunday and dinner, 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday to Saturday.
The Junction House is located at 1010 King Street just off RR 1431 and across the highway from Chamberlain Street. Although reservations are not available, you may phone the restaurant at (325) 388-3800 and you can view the full menus online at junction-house.com.
