James Howard Birdsong, 67, passed away in Houston on April 18. He was born to J.D. and Martha L. Brand Birdsong on Aug. 28, 1940 in Chambers County, Ala.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, J.D. and Martha Birdsong and a brother, George G. Birdsong.

He is survived by his wife, Anita Louise Thompson Birdsong of Kingsland.; his son James Michael Birdsong (Lisa); and his daughter Aimee Denice Birdsong Clark (Randy) both of Valley, Ala.; Robin L.Stokes Bruce of Dallas and Suzanne M. Stokes Parker (Alan)of Little Elm; his grandchildren Luke and Justin Clark ,William White, Temperance Birdsong, William and Helen Parker, Hannah and Charlie Bruce; his sisters Barbara June (Dewrell) Hester and Patricia B. (John) Hudson.

Jim had two bachelor degrees and a master degree. He served his country with the U.S. Air Force, retiring after 22 years of service. He was awarded four Meritorious Service awards and a Bronze Star Medal. Jim loved his life and his family. He enjoyed woodworking.

At the request of the family, there will be no funeral services. Private inurnment will be held.
