Betty C. Parks, 82 years, of Llano, passed away on April 19. She was born November 18, 1925, to Razzie and Ida Mae Thompson Chafin at Marie, Ariz.
Her parents and brother, Gerald Finley Chafin preceded her in death.
Betty is survived by her husband of 63 years, LeRoy “Mike” Parks of Llano; her daughter Sharon Kay and husband, Randy Speidel, of Llano; her granddaughters Emily and husband, Lee Mayhew, of Rowlett, and Lori and husband, Ricky Pope, of Horseshoe Bay; her great-grandchildren Kaylee Marie and Caden Joshua Pope, and Myah Kate Mayhew; her brother Woodrow Wilson Chafin of Luxora, Ariz.; her sisters Eva Bullard of San Benito, and Norma Frazer of Magnolia, Ariz.
Betty was married to LeRoy B. “Mike” Parks on November 28, 1944. Betty lived her life in service to her Lord Jesus Christ and to her family and friends. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, she wrote many original, personalized poems and songs for them and for other family members and friends. She wrote feature articles for The Village News in Blytheville for several years and was published in The Arkansas Gardner magazine.
Funeral services will be held at Genesis Lutheran Church 15949 E. Hwy 29, Buchanan Dam, on Tuesday April 22, at 10 a.m. with interment at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen, at 2:30 p.m.
