Lois Anita Jackson, 70, of Buchanan Dam, passed away April 7. She was born to Alvin Ernest and Vera Mae (Hale) Ware on Feb. 1, 1938, in Menard.

She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Donald Jackson, of Buchanan Dam; children, Linda Brashears, Jerry Bradley, Laura Nelson; three grandchildren; one great grandchild; brother, Don Ware; sisters, Beverly Christianson, Charlene Garrett, Dene Michalek; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Jackson was a devoted member of the Chapel of the Hills Baptist Church for over 30 years. She traveled to Ukraine and to Mexico on mission trips. She was a beautician, boutique owner and a member of the Red Hat Society. She loved to spend time with friends and family and often hosted dinners, sang, or danced. Her life and her ministry were to give God the glory and the praise for everything whether good or bad.

A visitation was held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday April 8. Services were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday April 9, at Chapel of the Hills Baptist Church in Buchanan Dam. Interment was at Rest Haven Cemetery in Menard.
