A Buchanan Dam woman was arrested Saturday night on a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Llano County Sheriff’s deputies and EMS responded to a reported stabbing at 3758 RR 261 in Buchanan Dam at 10:23 p.m. on Jan. 30. Officials discovered a 45 year old man who had been stabbed once in the abdomen. The victim was airlifted to Brackenridge Hospital in Austin and was reported to be in stable condition.

Brenda Louise Thompson, age 54, allegedly stabbed the man during an altercation. She was booked into the Llano County Jail and was released after posting a $100,000 bond.

Assault with a deadly weapon is a 2nd degree felony punishable by two to twenty years in prison and a $10,000 fine.
