Zore’ Childers Hall was born on Sept. 9, 1919 in San Antonio to Josephine (Childers) Hall and Bernie Hall. When she was ten years old she was baptized at Beacon Hill Baptist Church. While growing up she mastered the piano and loved to play all of her life. In Sept. of 1941 she went to work for the Eighth Service Command at Fort Sam Houston. In Dec. of 1943, the Service Command was transferred to Dallas, so Zore’ moved away from her parents. While working in Dallas, she met and married William Gordon Humphries July 24, 1944. She watched her brand new husband go off to war. After the war was over, they chose to stay in the Dallas area. They were blessed with twin boys, William Ray (Bill) and Robert Gordon (Bob) in 1949.
While the boys were growing up, Zore’ was involved in their lives. She made sure the boys were always in Sunday school, church choir and church activities. After Zore’ and Gordon both retired they moved to Marble Falls. Zore’ kept very busy during her retirement with offices in her Sunday School class at First Baptist Kingsland, and her social clubs in the Marble Falls area. Gordon preceded Zore’ in death Feb. 1988, she was also preceded in death by her parents and brother. Zore’ was a very thoughtful person; she loved her family and never wanted to be a burden on them. She loved her pets and her plants and could make anything grow inside or outside. She loved to cook for her family and making desserts was her specialty. She is survived by two sons, Bill and wife Andranette Humphries of Austin, Bob and wife Connie Humphries of Cedar Park. Five grandchildren; Kenny and wife Lauren Humphries of Round Rock, Douglas Humphries and Beth Humphries both of Austin, Brent and wife Amy Baxter of Tooele, Utah, Blair and husband Brian Plotner of Woodbridge, Virginia; three great grandchildren: Anabelle and Charlotte Anne Baxter of Tooele, Utah and Ryder Plotner of Woodbridge, Virginia; her sister-in-law, Dixie Hall and her three children and their families.
