A “Sweetheart Soiree” brownie judging will be held next Tuesday, February 9, at the Kingsland Library as an early celebration of Valentine’s Day. Anyone may enter a batch of two dozen brownies or dessert bars (one of last year’s contestants was just four years old), as long as they are made from a recipe, and not a pre-packaged mix; entries are due at 11 a.m. Entry forms may be picked up at the Kingsland Library.

Judging will begin at noon. The three judges are: Tina Jones and Krystal Alley, of Kids Connection Learning Center, and “real” judge Linda Ballard, Justice of the Peace from Precinct #2 in Llano County. First Prize will be a $50 gift certificate from Copper Kettle; other prizes will be awarded if donors are found.
