Linda Colvin was born and raised in Dallas. She earned a B.S. in Geology at the University of Texas at Arlington and worked for many years as an exploration geophysicist.
Later she worked as a geological software trainer and tester, during which time she traveled almost continuously for five years mainly to Northern Europe.
Her job also took her to South America, Trinidad and Alaska. Only recently has she had the time to concentrate on her paintings.
Linda has had a lifetime love of art and has had one woman shows in Austin and her work can be found in public and private collections.
A whimsical sense of fun and color are her specialties and the new Children’s Cancer Treatment Center in Austin features a collection of her work.
Married with two teenage daughters, she is currently commuting from Dripping Springs to Llano to paint and work at the Llano Fine Arts Gallery.
The family is planning to move to the Llano area, where they own property, when the girls are out of high school.
We encourage everyone to come and see her very special water media paintings. The Llano Fine Arts Gallery is located at 503 Bessemer, two blocks north of the bridge, and is open Wednesday through Saturday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Llano Fine Arts Guild exists to highlight and promote local artists. If you have an interest in art, come and share your talent with us.
