There are two spectacular events scheduled at the Lakeshore Library. Come, see, and learn.

Do you have any peach trees on your property? Do you love to cook and bake with peaches? Come to the Lakeshore Library, May 6 at 2:30 p.m. and learn the very best “peach tips” with Tanner Murchinson.

The Murchison’s have made our area famous for the variety of juicy and flavorful peaches their family has been growing for more than 23 years. In season, their stand usually sells out in less than a half hour. Their family has been farming in the Lake Buchanan area since 1867.

Tanner is the fifth generation to farm and ranch here. Currently they harvest nine different kinds of peaches.

May 13 at 2:30 p.m., Linda Wallen will demonstrate simple formulations that explore the uses of herbs beyond soups and salads. Increase your general gardening excitement with an introduction to the many subjects that are part of herbal knowledge and tradition. Add to your home apothecary as well as your kitchen pantry by cooking up herbs with simple home ingredients.

Learn to make natural beauty and spa-like products for yourself or for others; and herbal crafts for home fragrance or cleaning.
