Llano County Judge Wayne Brascom presented county employee Ron Moore with the Floodplain Administrator of the Year Award.

The award is made by the Texas Colorado Floodplain Coalition which represents cities and counties from Lampasas to Wharton on the Colorado River.

Each year TCRFC selects an individual that has shown significant excellence in the field of floodplain management.

This individual has demonstrated dedication through administration of his community’s floodplain management program in pursuing the goals of flood loss reduction and in the prevention of loss of life. Moore was cited for his role in alerting residents to the potential of flooding in a county with many streams, rivers, lakes and tributaries, adding up to some 175 miles of water front.

County Elected Officials and staff members attended a reception was at the Llano Courthouse Tuesday afternoon to acknowledge the award for Moore who resides in Sunrise Beach with his spouse Marsha.
