Llano Pack 301 celebrated 100 years of scouting at their annual Blue and Gold Dinner on February 23, 2010 at 6:30 pm at the Llano Church of Christ. Mayor Mike Reagor and Teddy Rodgers the Pack Chairman was also in attendance. There were many awards given out for the hard work that the scouts have done.
Tigers: Holton Hawkins received his Tiger badge and stripe, Mom’s pin, Blue & Gold patch, recruiting patch and a communication and bowling belt loop. Kenneth Perry received his Tiger badge and stripe, Mom’s pin, Blue & Gold patch recruiting patch and communication and bowling belt loop. Jackson Pinckney received his Tiger badge and stripe, mom’s pin, Blue & Gold and recruiting patch and a communication and bowling belt loop. Tyler Westerman received his Tiger badge and stripe, mom’s pin, Blue & Gold patch, recruiting patch and his communication and bowling belt loops.
Cub Scouts : Ben Ashley received a Blue & Gold Patch, Built it Patch, and a chess belt loop. Philippe Revada Carpenter received his baseball, basketball, bowling fishing, golf, kickball, chess and reading and writing belt loops. Philippe also received I built it Patch, Blue & Gold Patch and a recruiting patch. Seamus Degraddenried received his chess and computer belt loops and Blue & Gold patch and I built it patch. Kobi Hawkins received a chess belt loop, Blue & Gold patch and I built it patch. Robert McCall received a basketball and chess belt loops along with the Blue & Gold patch and the I built it patch. Corbyn Rushe received a chess belt loop and the Blue & Gold patch along with the I built it patch and the popcorn patch.
4th Grade Webelos – Chance Bailey received a Blue & Gold patch and a popcorn patch, Branden Ellison received his Bobcat patch, mom’s pin, outdoorsman’s pin, polar bear patch, Fishing belt loop and a Blue & Gold patch. Oliver Pinckney received his handyman and traveler pin he also received the Blue & Patch. Shawn Swearing received his Bobcat patch, mom’s pin, outdoorsman pin, fishing belt loop his Polar Bear patch and his Blue & Gold patch.
5th Grade Webelos – Blake Ashley received his citizen and fishing belt loops , citizen pin, fitness pin, readyman pin he also earned his Webelos patch, Polar Bear patch along with his Blue & Gold patch. Jacob Dodson received his family member pin, handyman pin and his Arrow of Light, Mom’s pin, Polar Bear patch and his Blue & Gold patch. Cameron Hall received his Engineer and Fitness pins, Polar Bear patch and his Blue & Gold Patch and he also earned his Webelos patch. Samuel Pirie received his Athlete pin along with his Arrow of Light, Mom’s pin, and his Blue & Gold patch. Dawson Smith received his fitness pin, readyman pin, and he earned his Webelos patch, mom’s pin, and his Blue & Gold patch. Cason Stewart received his fitness pin, readyman pin Cason also earned his Webelos patch, mom’s pin, and his Blue & Gold patch. Thomas Westerman received his athlete pin, handyman pin, readyman pin, sportman pin along with his Arrow of Light, mom’s pin and his Blue & Gold patch. Evan Wheeler received his Arrow of Light pin, mom’s pin, Polar Bear patch and his Blue & Gold patch.
Pack 301 Den 1 also had five young men who crossed over to Boy Scouts.
Thomas Westermann joined Pack 301 September 22, 2005 and proceeded to receive his Bobcat on November 8, 2005. Along the journey to Boy Scouts he also received the ranks of Bobcat, Tiger, Wolf , Bear and Webelos, which was earned on February 20,2009. By receiving his Arrow of Light the journey ended for Thomas. The same is true in life, when one journey ends another journey begins. Thomas has participated in many activities with Pack 301. Pinewood derbies, fishing derbies, popcorn sales, campouts, Report to State, Llano Rodeo parade, Food for Scouting and assisted with recruiting other boys are just some of the activities Thomas has done. Thomas is the first scout to complete all five years and earn every rank along the way. Thomas’s parents William and Beverly Westermann, the Cub Master and Assistant Cub Master for Pack 301, are very proud of the accomplishment that he has done and hopes that he will put forth the same effort in the Llano Boy Scouts Troop 301.
Jacob Dodson joined Pack 301 on October 4, 2008 and earned his Bobcat. He became a Webelos on September 23, 2008 and earned his Arrow of Light on February 23, 2010. Jacob has been very involved with his Pack. He has attended Report to State, Llano Rodeo Parade. Jacob was also involved with Food for Scouting and assisted with recruiting other boys along his journey. Clyde Dodson, Jacob’s father joined the pack on February 20,2009 as Assistant Webelos Leader.
Evan Wheeler joined Pack 301 on September 22, 2007. After a year with the pack his father Jim Wheeler also joined as the Webelos Leader. Evan also too has been very involved with his pack. Evan has participated in the Pinewood derbies, fishing derbies, popcorn sales, campouts, Evan has attended Report To State, Llano Rodeo Parade, Food for Scouting and Evan too has assisted with the recruiting of other boys along his journey. On February 23, 2010 Evan has earned his Arrow of Light. Mr. Wheeler will be moving up with his son to Scouting.
On September 18, 2007 Pack 301 recruited Samuel Pirie. He has earned his Bobcat, and Bear and became a Webelos on August 31, 2008 and he earned his Arrow of Light on February 23, 2010. Samuel has been very involved with his pack. Samuel has participated in the Pinewood derbies, fishing derbies, popcorn sales, campouts he has attended Report to State. Samuel has participated in the Llano Rodeo Parade, Food for Scouting and he has assisted with recruiting other boys along his journey.
Dawson Smith joined pack 301 on September 22, 2007. Dawson has earned his Bobcat, Bear, and Webelos on August 31, 2008. On February 23, 2010 Dawson earned his Arrow of Light. Dawson has been very involved with his pack. Dawson has participated in the Pinewood derbies, fishing derbies, popcorn sales, campouts, Report to State, Llano Rodeo Parade, Food for Scouting and assisted with recruiting other boys along his journey.
