1929 - 2010

Billie Jean Ware, 80, of Kingsland passed away March 4, 2010. She was born to Beakley and Agnes (McCollough) Mangum on July 24, 1929 in Poteet.

She married Vernon Ware on April 28, 1950 in San Antonio. She was a stay-at- home mom for many years before she went back to work for the Harlandale Independent School District working as a secretary until her retirement. She was a member of Bellaire Baptist Church until moving to Kingsland where she was a member of Highland Lakes Baptist Church.

Mrs. Ware is survived by her husband Vernon Ware, of Kingsland, son, Roy Ware and wife Sunnye, of Waco, daughter, Linda Brown and husband Kerry, of San Antonio, son, David Ware and wife Joyce, of Chocktaw, Okla., grandchildren, Steven, Starla, Scott, Allison, and Peter, two great grandchildren, sister, JoAnn Moore, of San Marcos, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A visitation was held at 1:00pm Sunday, March 7, 2010. Graveside services were conducted on Monday, March 8, 2010 at Mission Burial Park South in San Antonio with Reverend Ron Langley officiating. An online guest register may be signed at www.putnamfunerals.com.
