The 8th annual “A View from the Bench” was held on May 2, in San Saba. The continuing education seminar was sponsored by Jim Childress and Jimmy Shook, attorneys in San Saba and Southwest Educational Services.

Many Llano and Burnet County attorneys attended and received training in various criminal and civil areas of the law.

Speakers included 33rd Judicial District Judge Guilford Jones, 424th Judicial District Judge Dan Mills and Associate Judge Rob Hofmann of the Child Protection Court of the Hill Country.

Each year attorneys from Central Texas meet to hear “hot” legal current topics and law updates from numerous judges.

The next local continuing education conference will be held in Llano County on Aug. 1. It will be sponsored by Cheryll Mabray, Llano County Attorney, and her staff and Texas District and County Attorneys Association and is open to anyone involved in the community justice field.
