Fifty 4-H members participated in the Spring District Contest. They represented Llano County very well and did an outstanding job. The Senior Meats Team won first and second and members were: Trey Brooks, Chelsea Montgomery, Walker Woolman, Monica Bigger, Blair Schorck, Cassidy Rabb, Breann Hoskins, Wes Regmund, Geoffrey Sanders, and Taylor Osbourn.
The Intermediate Team won their contest also with members: Logan Thompson, Clay Tarter, Vance Bauer, Aaron Francis, and Wesley Haverlah.
The Beef Quiz Bowl entered as an Intermediate Team but competed against Senior teams and won the contest. They were: Wesley Haverlah, Vance Bauer, James Smarr, and Cole Perkins. The Livestock Teams were: Seniors- eighth place (Sterling Jameson, Audrey Sanders, Jessica Smarr and Brandon Smith). The Intermediates - second place ( Logan Thompson, Linsey Osbourn, Cole Perkins); 11th place (Clay Tarter, Vance Bauer, James Smarr, and Aaron Moss); 24th place (Justin Long, Cheyenne Bauman, and Steton Watson). The Juniors were fourth place (Shaylee Jameson, Kaymon Lange, Jalen Bauman, Kyle Tarter, Wyatt Bauman, and Lilianna Long).
The Range Evaluation Team and Pasture Grass Identification both placed second (Alex Homesley, Dustin Merkel, Aaron Perkins, and Dakota Vollmar). Wesley Haverlah placed second in Public Speaking.
The Rifle Teams were: Seniors who placed fourth (Craig Martin, Clayton Sheller, and Troy Poe); Brian Bilski competed as an individual in the Intermediate Division and the Junior Team placed fifth (Jordan Ledbetter, Carter Churchill, and Colton Roark).
Congratulations to all the 4-H members that participated and a Very Big Thank You to all of the volunteers who helped with coaching, hauling 4-H members, providing a place to practice judging, and providing animals to judge.
Thank you to all the parents who encouraged their kids to participate in all of these events.
