Llano’s Third Annual Texas Proud Festival and Shoot Em Up Contest is just a couple of weeks away and the excitement is building.
Re-enactors from as far away as California will be competing for prizes and braging rights at Badu Park along the banks for our beautiful Llano River. There will be a number of authentic cowboy camps at Badu Park along with some fine vittles provided by vendors from across the state.
Downtown will be a beehive of activity with the Butterfield Stagecoach travelling between Berry Street Bakery and the Old Redtop Jail. Pony and train rides for the kids will be on Berry Street between Sandstone and Main.
There will be plenty of vendors around our historic courthouse along with food, fun, and music. The highlight of downtown will be the return of the Cow-O-Grapher Wild West Show.
This is great family entertainment and last year the group made a great impression on festival goers. The Texas Flags are now at the Chamber office.
They measure 12x18 attached to a two foot dowel. The goal is to have 200 flags displayed all over Llano.
You can get your flags now for just $4.50 but you better get yours soon because they are going fast. And, oh yes, prospective stagecoach passengers are being warned to hide their valuables as reports have been confirmed that there will be attempts to hold up the Butterfield Overland Stage while it is here in Llano.
