Dear Editor,

My name is Mary and while visiting my daughter and grandchildren in Llano, TX my Pekingese mix dog named Munchee was shot by a neighbor who lives next door from my daughter that afternoon on August 2, 2010.

Munchee was scratching the door to go outside not knowing that the front gate was left open, Munchee wandered out the gate. In a matter of minutes little Munchee was shot with a 45 handgun in cold blood.

When Munchee failed to scratch on the door, I went out calling for her. The police had been called. The officer said that my dog was dead. That individual had also called the city to have them remove my dog from his back yard. The officer walked to the back yard where she discovered that Munchee was shot in the neck but was still alive. I was in shock and disbelief. I wanted to save my faithful little dog who was always by my side when I was sick, always waiting for me when I got home. We took her to one of the vet clinics in Llano and x-rays showed that the bullet had traveled out the other side of her neck. Heartbroken I will never understand the heartless cruelty done to her. After five days she showed some improvement so I decided to take her back to San Antonio to the VCA mission animal hospital. But she had lost blood due to the shock. She was given medication that was too strong and she had internal bleeding.

Transfusions were given; they did everything they could. She was suffering and with the advice of the doctor I decided she be put to sleep.

Still in shock I want JUSTICE FOR MUNCHEE thats the least I can do for my faithful little dog that did not deserve this cruel act of violence.

Thank you

Mary Gomez

San Antonio, TX
