Nettie Jean Hobbs, age 85 of Hutto and a former resident of Kingsland from 1969 to 2001, passed away Wednesday, August 18, 2010 in Georgetown. Nettie was born on September 24, 1924 in Crowell to Sylveston Newsom and Jeanettie (McKenzie) Newsom. She married Ernie Clifford Hobbs on January 7, 1945 in Lubbock. After receiving her nursing degree, she had nursed for many years. Nettie was a member of the First Baptist Church in Kingsland.

She is survived by two daughters, JoAnn Graves of Hutto and Barbara Robbins of Grand Rapids, Minn.; a son, Clifford Hobbs of Weatherford, ten grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Nettis preceded in death by her parents, her husband, three brothers and one sister.

Graveside services were held Friday, August 20, 2010 at 9:00am in Lakeland Hills Memorial Park with Tom Slavin officiating.

Memorial Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or for Diabetes research.
