Penny (Staedtler) Whitewood, 60, of Llano, passed away Thursday, May 22, in Temple. She was born on March 10, 1948 to Viola Sophie (Miiller) and Erich John Staedtler in Llano County.

Mrs. Whitwood is preceded in death by her parents Erich and Viola Staedtler and her brother, Tony Staedtler.

She is survived by daughter, Nicole Buchanan and husband, Earl, of Llano; son, Erich Grant and wife, Kim, of Spring; sister, Martha Porch, of Llano; brothers, E.J. Staedtler, of Llano and Charles Staedtler, of Buda; grandchildren, Natalie, John, Jacob, Ben, and Emma; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Whitewood was employed as an Office Manager with Ratliff Ford Dealership in Llano and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

A funeral service was held Sunday, May 25, at Waldrope-Hatfield-Hawthorne Funeral Home Chapel in Llano at 2 p.m. with Pastor Elliott Pancoast officiating. Interment will follow at Llano City Cemetery.

Pallbearers will include Boyd Staedtler, Derek Staedtler, Mark Staedtler, Dare Weihs, Donny Carpenter, Paul Sauveur, Randy Nagel, and Eddie Ward.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. James Lutheran Church or to the American Cancer Society.

Arrangements under the direction of Waldrope-Hatfield-Hawthorne Funeral Homes, Inc. in Llano.
