The body of Kingsland Pharmacy owner Warren Dale Freeman was found Friday morning on his ranch in Blanco County.

According to Blanco County Precinct 1 Justice of the Peace Terry Carter, Freeman, 53, had gone out to his ranch Thursday afternoon and was using a box blade on a tractor to build a stock tank. It’s believed Freeman had driven the tractor to the top of the 10 foot tall levee he was building.

Carter said it appeared the tractor had gone off the side of the embankment, rolled over, and caused serious blunt force trauma to Freeman’s head. Carter believes Freeman died instantly.

Carter said two Llano County deputies discovered Freeman’s body around 8 am Friday morning. Carter was called to the scene at approximately 8:10, and certified death at 9:20 am.

The ranch is located on Lynn Hardin Road, approximately 6 miles west of Ranch Road 962 off Ranch Road 3347. Carter said there is a house located on the ranch, and that Freeman would sometimes work late and stay at the ranch house overnight. He would go directly to work at the pharmacy the following morning.

Freeman was a 1974 graduate of Llano High School who earned degrees from Southwest Texas and University of Texas at Austin’s School of Pharmacy. He married Jil in Llano on August 11, 1979. The couple has three sons, Jason, Blake and Stephen.

Freeman and his family moved to Kingsland and opened the pharmacy in September of 1984 next to Hoerster Clinic.

Over the years the Freemans stayed active in many community organizations, including the Kingsland, Lake LBJ Chamber of Commerce. Kingsland Pharmacy was named the Kingsland Chamber of Commerce’s 2010 Business of the Year.

A funeral service was held Monday at the Llano High School Auditorium. Burial followed at Llano City Cemetery. The family has requested memorial donations to the Dale Freeman Memorial Scholarship Fund, Prosperity Bank, 1801 W. Ranch Road 1431, Kingsland, Texas 78639.
