A member of the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Llano drove her car through the doors of the church last Wednesday causing damage to the building’s sanctuary.

Witnesses said Linda Tow, 66, drove her Chrysler Sebring up the walkway to the church and stopped at the doors. She got out of her car to open the doors before gunning the engine and driving up the center aisle. The damage included destruction of some of the church’s 40-year-old pews.

No one inside the church was injured.

Tow was reportedly heard shouting "Satan" during the ordeal.

Llano police officers removed three dogs from Tow’s car and took them to the city shelter. Tow was taken to Llano Memorial Hospital for observation. She was later booked into the Llano County jail, where she remains in custody.

Services have resumed at Holy Trinity despite the remaining damages in the sanctuary.
