Ester Emma (Schmidt) Chandler, 90, of Llano, passed away June 2, in Llano. She was born on Aug. 10, 1917, in Llano to Johanna (Heine) Schmidt and Gus Schmidt.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Gus and Johanna Schmidt; her husband, James A. Chandler; as well as her sister, Ruth Oestreich.
Mrs. Chandler is survived by two daughters, Pat Atwell and husband, Dewey, of Llano, and Susan Bunnell and husband, Glen, of Granbury; three sons, Mike Chandler, of Austin, Lin Chandler, of Llano, and J.T. Chandler and wife, Michelle, of Victoria. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, Kevin, Chris, Terri, Missy, Robert, Joey, Haley, Kyle, Erin; and three great grandchildren, Sara, Shawn, and Hannah.
Mrs. Chandler had been a resident of Llano since 1978, formerly of Corpus Christi. She married James A. Chandler on Nov. 27, 1947, in Temple. She was a graduate of Austin Business College, a homemaker, and a member of St. James Lutheran Church in Llano.
A funeral service was held Thursday June 5, at Waldrope-Hatfield-Hawthorne Funeral Home Chapel in Llano at 1 p.m. with Pastor Elliott Pancoast officiating. Interment will follow at Llano City Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers were Kyle Chandler, Glen Smith, Ted Gray, Michael Mitchell, John David Myers, and Joey Chandler.
Memorial contributions may be made to the St. James Lutheran Church in Llano, Llano Hospice, or any charity of your choice.
