The Llano River Golf Associations “First Annual Llano River Blowout” turnout was a huge success.
The Lone Star State was well represented here in Llano June 7 and 8. Teams from San Antonio, Houston, Dallas, Austin, San Angelo and Austin were represented along with our local area golfers totaling 72 players, bringing their best game to Llano River Golf Course despite winds and warm days.
The teams were playing to win first, second, thrid, or fourth in their respective flights in order to win the prize money totaling $1,500 per day.
Along with the prize money won in each flight the players also were competing in a chipping contest, longest drive and closest to the pin and a raffle sponsored by the Golf Association and the Llano River Golf Course.
Winners included: Day 1
Championship Flight: Bobby Hutcherson and Derek Jordon, 63, of Austin; First flight: Will Burleson and Ronnie Porfino, 63, of Georgetown; Second flight: Johnny Clawson and Todd Horton, 68, of San Saba; Third flight:(tied) Jimmy Simpson and Mathew Hawkins, of Llano and Mark Dalland and Steve Jungbluth, 74, of Austin.
Day 2:
Championship Flight: Casey Landers and Colin Mosely, of Llano, Gene Black and Josh Hugnall, of Austin, Bobby Hutcherson and Derek Jordon, 63, of Austin; First flight: Will Burleson and Ronnie Porfino, 67, of Georgetown; Second flight: Johnny Clawson and Todd Horton, 71, of San Saba; and Third flight: Jimmy Simpson and Mathew Hawkins, 71, of Llano.
