C.A.S.A. (Court Appointed Special Advocates) for the Highland Lakes Area, Inc. is having their Third Annual Motorcycle Rally and Armadillo Run in Riesen Park, beginning Friday, June 27 through Sunday June 29.
The function will serve as a fundraiser for the non-profit organization as well as a public awareness effort.
The Pecan Valley Son Riders, the local chapter of Christian Motorcyclists Association, is assisting with the effort.
There will be motorcycle activities throughout the weekend.
Gates will open for campers at 2 p.m. on Friday and a motorcycle parade through San Saba is scheduled to begin at 8:30 p.m. beginning at the park with live Bluegrass music to follow.
Anyone wishing to ride in the parade is invited. Those wishing to participate in the Armadillo Run, a poker (type) run, must register between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Saturday.
Beginning at noon on Saturday, there will be live music throughout the day featuring the contemporary inspirational sounds of recording artists “Hundred Fold Seed.”
Also the bluesy rock sound of recording artist and guitar sensation, “Daniel Conti” and his band “Drawing Back.”
Saturday night beginning at 9 p.m. there will be a dance at the Riesen Park Pavilion featuring the southern rock/country sound of recording artists “Redneck Jedi.” You will not be disappointed in the music.
Other Saturday activities include a motorcycle show, vendors of various types, prizes, drawings, a silent auction and other surprises.
CASA for the Highland Lakes Area has been operating since 1993 and has continuously served children who are in the foster care system due to abuse and neglect.
CASA for the Highland Lakes serves Llano, Burnet, Blanco, Lampasas, and San Saba.
CASA is respected nationally for their child advocacy work. Although there are hundreds of programs scattered across all fifty of the United States, most of those programs are self supporting, stand alone entities, as is CASA for the Highland Lakes Area.
