The Mason County Chamber of Commerce will be hosting a Sesquicentennial Roundup parade on Saturday, July 12.

This parade is extra special because it’s celebrating of the 150th anniversary of the founding of Mason County.

Named for Fort Mason, the county was established by an act of the state legislature on Jan. 22, 1858. The parade promises to set the record for the most participants ever.

The state issued a parade permit with time constraints. Due to the anticipated increased number of local and out-of-town participants, the parade will be held to one time around the square this year.

Remember to bring cameras and plan ahead to get pictures during the single pass around the courthouse.

Parade entry forms are available at the Mason County Chamber of Commerce and can be mailed or faxed upon request.

All completed parade entries should be returned to the Chamber office. You may also mail your entry form to POB 156, Mason, TX 76856 or fax them to (325) 347-5259.
