Joe Ed Goble, 79, of Sheridan, passed away Wednesday, July 9, in Round Rock. He was born on June 21, 1929, to Ruby (Scarborough) and Ed Lindsey Goble in Haskell.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Elva Jean; and his brother, Buford Goble.

Mr. Goble is survived by his wife, Evelyn Holt Goble, of Sheridan; his daughters, Kathy Klare and husband, Jeff, of Victoria, and Donna Goble Hoffer and husband, Don, of Inez; his sons, Jerry Goble and wife, Peggy, of Baytown, and Charles Ray Goble, of Victoria; his sister, Linda Kay Goble, of Buchanan Dam; his brothers, Norman Lee Goble, of Buchanan Dam, and Wayne Goble, of Buchanan Dam; nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

Mr. Goble was an electrician and a veteran in the U.S. Army having served in the Korean War.

A graveside service was held Saturday, July 12, at the Kingsland Cemetery off of FM 2545 in Kingsland at 3 p.m.

Serving as pallbearers were Nathan Oakes, Joe Oakes, Pat Williams, Joseph Goble, Jeri Goble, Dawn Schultz, Misty Calvez, Kami Oakes, Sherri Leita, Pat Schultz, and Gary Gutherie.

In lieu of flowers may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Arrangements under the direction of Waldrope-Hatfield-Hawthorne Funeral Homes, Inc. in Kingsland.
